We're Here to Help
Dystlegh Grange is a supportive, independent living community for people over 65. It offers 37 fully furnished open-plan studio or apartment suites in a friendly, neighbourly environment. Residents enjoy privacy, companionship, and the support and care each person may need.
Yes. Dystlegh Grange is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and holds an “Outstanding” rating.
Individual expectations, needs and preferences are determined initially, but support and care requirements will naturally change over time, and we aim to meet these in a person's own home here, other than at times when hospital stays are necessary.
Please refer to the Accommodation section.
Fees are directly related to:
- The suite you chose
- The level of support you require
Accommodation, personal care and dining costs are all included. Other than personal items such as newspapers, hairdressing, private chiropody, personal items, etc, no extra costs are involved. The Grange offers truly excellent value for money. However, it is appreciated that over the years fees add up to a substantial amount, therefore we suggest you may wish to seek financial advice.
If you are moving withing our local area, you will be able to remain under your own doctor. If not, you will need to change, and there are two well regarded GP surgeries to choose from. We can provide any information required regarding these, and assist you with the registration process.
All the benefits of the NHS are available to everyone living at the Grange. We are also on hand to assist with all your medication and have a wide knowledge allowing us to offer support in this area. The organisation and quality of the care service at Dystlegh Grange are nationally recognised and we always strive to assist someone in achieving the best health they can achieve.
All meals are freshly prepared. A Daily Menu together with a Larder Menu offers variety. Residents usually enjoy breakfast in their suites and other meals, which offer social opportunities or privacy in the various dining areas.

Current Financial Support
CHC is another source of funding, which may be available to meet an individual's health and associated social care needs that have arisen as a result of disability, accident or illness. This is a benefit which is strictly reserved for those who have profound and unpredictable health needs that would otherwise be met in hospital.
Government Support can be very limited and depends on your financial position. Current rates are available below.
If your savings run low, financial support is currently available from the Local Authority if they fall below the level set by the Government.
Additional information on financial support is also available below from Age UK.
“Paying for Permanent Residential Care” provides further information, both financial and general, (including any State Financial Support which is available or will be in the future).
