Mental health support at work is an important part of creating a positive, caring and supportive environment where people feel valued and able to be their best every day. Looking after the wellbeing of our colleagues is therefore fundamental not only to creating a positive place to work, but also to helping us continue to provide the highest standards of care to our residents. Supporting physical health has always been important, but we believe that mental health deserves the same level of attention. Creating an inclusive environment where colleagues feel comfortable asking for support, talking about their wellbeing and accessing help when they need it remains an important part of our approach at Dystlegh Grange.
Our Partnership with Able Futures
As part of our ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing, we are delighted to announce our partnership with Able Futures, a specialist service providing mental health support to people in the workplace.
Through Able Futures, eligible Dystlegh Grange colleagues can access professional and confidential mental health support, advice and guidance at no cost to them.
The service is designed to help people who may be experiencing difficulties that are affecting them at work. Support is tailored to the individual and can help colleagues better understand their mental wellbeing, develop practical coping strategies and build resilience.
Eligible employees can receive up to nine months of confidential support, providing them with an opportunity to work with a mental health professional over a meaningful period of time.
Importantly, support isn’t limited to challenges that originate in the workplace. Difficulties in our personal lives can naturally affect how we feel at work, just as pressures at work can influence our lives outside it. Having somewhere confidential to turn can make an important difference.
Mental Health Support at Work at Dystlegh Grange
Providing access to mental health support at work is just one part of creating a healthy and supportive workplace culture.
At Dystlegh Grange, we want our colleagues to feel respected and listened to. We believe conversations about wellbeing should be encouraged and that asking for help when it is needed should always be recognised as a positive step.
For us, investing in the wellbeing of our team also goes hand in hand with the care we provide to our residents.
Our colleagues play an enormously important role in the lives of our residents and their families. Every day, they provide not only professional care but also companionship, reassurance and kindness. Supporting the people who provide that care helps them to feel confident, resilient and able to bring their best selves to work.
By continuing to develop our approach to workplace mental health support, we hope to create an environment in which everyone feels able to talk openly about their wellbeing and knows where they can turn if they need additional help.
Why Employee Wellbeing Matters to Us
The wellbeing of our colleagues has an important part to play in the overall environment we create at Dystlegh Grange.
A happy, supported and valued team is better placed to provide the compassionate, person-centred care that our residents deserve. That’s why employee wellbeing isn’t simply a workplace initiative for us; it’s part of our wider commitment to maintaining the standards and values that are at the heart of Dystlegh Grange.
We also recognise that everyone’s circumstances are different. Mental wellbeing can be affected by many things, from pressures at work and changes at home to financial worries, relationships, bereavement or simply feeling overwhelmed.
Having access to confidential, professional support gives colleagues another option when they feel they may benefit from talking to someone.
Continuing Our Commitment to Wellbeing
Our partnership with Able Futures represents another step in our ongoing commitment to developing a positive, supportive and inclusive workplace.
We know that wellbeing isn’t something that can be addressed through a single initiative. It requires an ongoing commitment to listening to our colleagues, understanding the challenges they face and looking for meaningful ways in which we can support them.
By introducing additional access to professional employee mental health support, we hope to give our colleagues another valuable resource they can turn to whenever they need it.
Ultimately, we want everyone who works at Dystlegh Grange to know that their wellbeing matters.
We are proud of the compassionate environment our team creates for our residents every day, and we believe that same compassion and support should extend to the people who make Dystlegh Grange the special place it is.
Our partnership with Able Futures is one more way we are putting that commitment into practice and continuing to champion the health and wellbeing of everyone within our organisation.
