About
A place to call home
Once the “nineteenth hole” of the local Golf Club, from the early 1980’s the Grange was brought to life and transformed through a programme of imaginative re-design and development. Over the years it has evolved into the attractive blend of accommodation you see today.
Established in 1980, Dystlegh Grange is proud to be an independent, privately owned care provider rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Our long-standing, dedicated staff are at the heart of what makes life here so enriching.
We take pride in creating a neighbourly atmosphere where independence is respected, support is personalised, and friendships flourish.

Since founding the home in the 1980s, Brian has remained deeply committed to exceptional, person-centred care. Known for working tirelessly day and night, he goes above and beyond - regularly visiting residents in hospital and offering unwavering support. His compassion and hands-on approach have shaped a culture of warmth, dignity, and respect. A true visionary, Brian promotes ideas that challenge traditional care models and empower residents to live fully and independently. He champions each individual, encouraging residents to shape their environment, routines, and choices so the home reflects their personalities - a place where they feel safe, valued, and truly at home.

With 38 years of experience at Dystlegh Grange, Nicola plays a pivotal role in maintaining high standards and consistency across the service. She oversees staff supervision and training, ensuring everyone feels supported and confident in their roles, while remaining actively involved in day-to-day care. Her calm, practical approach and strong communication skills make her a trusted figure among residents and staff, helping to create a positive and supportive environment for all. Charlotte joined the Dystlegh Grange family in 2015, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her previous career in the NHS as a Senior Occupational Therapist. She began her journey here as a carer, progressed to Senior Carer, and is now a valued member of the management team as Deputy Registered Manager.
Charlotte recently completed her qualification in Leadership and Management in Social Care, further strengthening her commitment to excellence in care provision. Outside of work, Charlotte is a proud mum of three. When she is not chauffeuring them to sports practices and other events, she enjoys keeping active herself through dance classes.

I have lived at Dystlegh Grange for over a year and have never regretted the move for one moment. Every member of the team has made me feel most welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Standards are extremely high in every department, the facilities are excellent and the cleanliness and laundry are superb. We are invited to join in the many activities and celebrations. Relatives and friends are encouraged to visit and are made most welcome. I feel very fortunate to be at Dystlegh Grange.
As the Physiotherapist who has provided the physiotherapy support at the Grange for nearly 14 years, I believe it is the long-term commitment of the care staff that enables each person to live their life to its full potential. We promote functional independence and where a person cannot be completely independent we fill in the gaps, without creating undue dependence.
My mum moved to Dystlegh Grange in 2016, a difficult decision at the time, but one she has never regretted. From the start, residents and their families have been treated with warmth, respect, and genuine care. The team provides exceptional support, delicious food, and attentive housekeeping, always maintaining the highest standards. The safety and wellbeing of residents are clearly their priority. After my mum’s recent hospital stay, I’m deeply grateful for the team’s dedication to her recovery. You truly are outstanding - please keep doing what you do so well.
